HER CONDITION ON RECEIPT

The neglect she suffered was apparent throughout. Nearly all of her exterior teak was irreparably weathered, her gelcoat was deeply stained, cracked (horizontal surfaces), pocked (below the waterline), and chalking (everywhere). Her running rigging was rotten, and she leaked badly when it rained. The photos which follow give evidence.

Here she is, at my home in October, just before Halloween 2007. (Note the Jack-O-Lantern headed scarecrow off the bow.) Port Quarter

Although now only cutting the blue sky, I can imagine her bow cutting an azure sea, and that motivates me. Even when dismasted, her lines show her classic beauty.
Port Bow

Here is a view of the starboard quarter. Everything I inspected indicated a boat with solid structure, but severe cosmetic and functional deficiencies. I took the challenge of restoration because everything that needed to be done appeared to be within my skill set, I have nearly all of the tools I would need, and I would now have the time to devote due to my retirement. Plus, I got her dirt cheap since her trailer alone is worth nearly what I paid.
Starboard Quarter

You can see what remains of her registration decal on the bow. It shows an expiration date of the 30th day of an unknown month in 1994. Assuming the expiration is the last day of the month, the month would be April, June, September, or November.
